Husband and Wife with Contraption Scrapbook page

A husband told his wife one day that he would like to go to space. She told him that is too far and he would have to at least figure out how to get into the air first. He had dreams of finding out the texture of the moon and flying around with the stars.

He went to begin what his wife told him and shot for at least being able to surf the clouds like the little bear in the books. He wondered at his wife how to do this and she pointed him towards asking the dragons if they knew a way to gain flight. They had magic after all.

He approached the dragons and asked them. They asked him why he didn't just ride one of them. He knew he could invent something to attach himself to a dragon, but he wanted to be able to go on his own. They said their is a magical hourglasses they owned that had powerful pixie dust that could be attached to a contraption like an engine. The only way to be able to gain this great hourglass from them though was to find a special snow globe that held a tiny dreamcatcher within. He asked what was so special about the dreamcatcher and the dragon's said it allowed the ability to go into other's dreams.

The man knew the dragons could concoct potions and wondered why they did not already have one for this purpose. The dragons informed him this was not something that could be accomplished with a potion. The dreamcatcher within the snow globe was the only way. The man then headed on his journey at this information. He follwed pieces of partially burnt maps and came across a cave that only a human could fit into. He saw why the dragons were never able to retreieve the snow globe themselves. He took and came back with the snow globe and the dragons then traded this with the hourglass.

The man got to work on adding wings like a dragon to a chariot and placing the hourglass within. He was able to fly around just like the dragons at this, but the price paid was now dragons being able to see the dreams and desires of humans. The dragons used this information to lure in the humans and make deals with them in order to gain more gold.

The man was appalled at the greed and went to visit the dragons again. The dragons placed the story as helping humans instead of wanting to gain items. They also reminded the man about how he used them to be able to fly on his own. Most human's methods of transport were horses because they were more willing to cart humans around. Dragons would only fly around those they felt worthy to be seen on a dragon's back. The man then took some of the dragon's potions and left flying away from them on his contraption.

He brought these dragon potions back to his wife, so she started mixing together and figured out a combination involving medusa blood to give horses wings. She poured them onto their horses and then started selling the potion to other humans who then could have a horse with wings, too. This caused the demand and gold for the dragons to go down and for them to become humbled. The dragons nodded in respect at the man for outsmarting them and praised the winged horses. This is the story of the creation of the Pegasus.

Thanks for reading my story that was based off of the art of scrapbook pages I made.
