Infinite Fidelity
based on a true story
Ladies and gentlemen, thanks for being here today.
For those that don’t know me, I’ve been best friends with the groom since middle school.
He was always a ladies man. Always had someone new on his arm for parties and dances.
Which is why it always stuck out to me that the night I met REDACTED at our house’s party, I distinctly remember both the bride and the groom showing up with someone else.
But trust me, they didn’t go home with who they came with, I know because I was the groom’s roommate.
Even after that night, they didn’t start dating and that continued; coming with someone else, going home with each other, always drawn together like gravity. And that’s how I know they’re built to last!
So let’s give a toast to the happy couple and the countless happy years ahead. May they live happily ever after!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Narrator Voice: they did not live happily ever after. Don't even think it made three years.
Based on a true story. Some liberties taken to protect the innocent.

Wooohooooo congratulations on your Leaderboard placement! 🎉💖🎊🎉💖🎊
Congrats on your placement! And good luck in this challenge!
hahaha, at least they left the ceremony together, didn't they? Congrats on getting top story for this
Omg lol. This was great. Also that is for the heads-up about Lana's challenge. Had .issued it. Congrats on rousing Johann's interest.
Naturally they'll blame their eventual separation on the best man, too.
I'm surprised they didn't leave the wedding with so done else. There's a certain symmetry.
Matthew, that 'Narrator Voice' at the end hit like a reality check in the middle of a romantic algorithm! As an Engineer and a Poet who has written 170 stories on resilience, I’ve seen many 'lines of fate' that looked like gravity but ended up being more like centrifugal force. I love the contrast between the sunny wedding toast and the raw honesty of the aftermath. It’s a perfect bit of microfiction—precise, punchy, and a little bit cynical. Truly a Top Story well-deserved!
I think I might know REDACTED, or at least a variation of her. I was just talking about wedding toasts with my son's fiancee. Fortunately, its unlikely they'll get anything this questionable. But maybe I could come up with something 🤔
That is a pretty fucked up wedding toast haha Just finished a class, have a week off. Getting ready to burn through my friend's most recent posts. Hope you're doing well, man
Lovely story!❤️❤️❤️🌻🙏
Haha, no wonder that marriage didn’t last! Awesome toast, Matthew!
Damn! That would be uncomfortable to the point of having to interrupt them with something unrelated or telling the DJ to crank it, haha. Good one.
Ooof That’s a brutal toast lol
Yikes!
This is right up my alley. Deliciously wicked!
