The Jealous Sisters and the Three Wonders
A tale of betrayal, lost princes, and a fearless princess who conquered magic, fate, and injustice.

By(Haris Barki)
Long ago, in a land of golden deserts and shimmering palaces, there ruled a mighty king whose kingdom was rich in beauty—but poor in peace. Though his people prospered, his heart carried a silent sorrow: he had no heir.
One fateful evening, while wandering the city in disguise as he often did, the king overheard a conversation between three sisters. They sat beneath a dim lantern, their voices soft yet full of dreams.
The eldest said, “If I were to marry the king, I would prepare feasts so grand that no one in the world would ever go hungry.”
The second laughed and added, “If I were queen, I would weave garments so fine that even the clouds would envy their beauty.”
But the youngest sister, quiet and thoughtful, spoke last. “If I were to marry the king, I would give him three children—two princes and a princess—each more wondrous than the last. One would have hair of gold, another would speak with the wisdom of the stars, and the third… would possess a heart strong enough to challenge fate itself.”
Hidden in the shadows, the king was struck by her words. The next morning, he summoned the sisters to the palace.
True to his nature, the king fulfilled each of their wishes—but not in the way they expected. He married the youngest sister, making her queen, while the elder two were given positions in the royal court.
At first, the sisters pretended to be happy. But deep within their hearts, jealousy began to grow—dark, poisonous, and relentless.

### The Birth of Wonders
In time, the queen gave birth to her first child—a prince with hair that shimmered like sunlight. The entire kingdom celebrated.
But the jealous sisters saw only their own failure.
That very night, while the queen slept, they carried the newborn away and replaced him with a lifeless bundle wrapped in cloth. They took the child to the river and cast him into the flowing waters.
When the king saw the bundle, grief and confusion filled him. His heart hardened, and though he did not punish the queen, doubt began to cloud his love.
The same cruel act was repeated when the second child was born—a prince whose eyes sparkled with strange intelligence, as though he understood the language of the universe. Again, the sisters stole the child and cast him away.
And when the third child was born—a beautiful princess with a calm and radiant presence—they committed their wicked act once more.
This time, however, fate had other plans.

### The River’s Secret
The three children did not perish.
A humble gardener and his wife, who lived by the riverbank, discovered the basket carrying the princess. Soon after, they found the two princes as well, each arriving on different nights, carried by the same mysterious current.
Having no children of their own, the couple took them in and raised them with love.
The eldest prince grew strong and noble, his golden hair shining brightly in the sun. The second prince became wise beyond his years, often speaking truths that left others in awe. And the princess… she was unlike anyone the world had ever seen.
She was fearless.
She climbed the tallest trees, questioned the deepest mysteries, and never accepted injustice—not even in its smallest form.
The villagers often whispered, “These children are no ordinary beings. They are touched by destiny.”

### The Three Wonders
Years passed, and one day, an old traveler visited the village. He spoke of three magical wonders hidden in distant lands:
1. A talking bird that revealed the truth of all things.
2. A singing tree whose melody could heal sorrow.
3. A golden fountain whose waters granted clarity and power.
The princess listened carefully. Something stirred within her—a calling she could not ignore.
“I will find these wonders,” she declared.
Her brothers tried to stop her, but she stood firm. “If we are meant for something greater, we must face it.”
Reluctantly, they agreed to join her.

### Trials of Courage
Their journey was long and dangerous.
The eldest prince faced a valley of shadows, where illusions tempted him to abandon his quest. But his noble heart kept him steady.
The second prince encountered a riddle-keeper who challenged his wisdom. With calm thought and patience, he solved every puzzle.
And the princess… she faced the greatest challenge of all.
To reach the talking bird, she had to cross a bridge guarded by fear itself. Voices echoed around her, whispering doubts:
“You are nothing.”
“You will fail.”
“You are alone.”
But she walked forward, unshaken.
“I am not afraid of lies,” she said. “I choose truth.”
And the voices vanished.

### The Truth Revealed
At last, they found the talking bird.
Perched upon a silver branch, it watched them with knowing eyes.
“Why have you come?” it asked.
“To seek truth,” the princess replied.
The bird tilted its head. “Truth is a heavy burden. Are you ready to carry it?”
She nodded.
Then the bird spoke:
“You are not the children of a gardener. You are the lost heirs of the king. Betrayed by your own blood, cast away by envy… yet saved by fate.”
The princes stood in stunned silence. But the princess clenched her fists.
“Then we must return,” she said. “Not for revenge—but for justice.”
---
### The Return to the Palace
With the three wonders in their possession, they journeyed to the royal palace.
The king, now older and weary, received them as honored guests, unaware of who they truly were.
During a grand feast, the princess placed the talking bird before the court.
“Let truth be heard,” she said.
The bird spoke, revealing every detail of the sisters’ betrayal—the stolen children, the lies, the river.
Gasps filled the hall.
The king trembled as realization struck him. He turned to the queen, who had lived all these years in sorrow and silence.
And then, slowly, he turned to the three young strangers—now revealed as his children.
Tears filled his eyes.
“My children…” he whispered.
---
### Justice and Forgiveness
The jealous sisters fell to their knees, their lies exposed.
The court demanded punishment. Some called for exile. Others for imprisonment.
But the princess stepped forward.
“Justice is not cruelty,” she said. “Let their punishment be the truth they must live with.”
The king agreed.
The sisters were stripped of their power and sent away, not with chains—but with the weight of their own actions.
---
### A New Beginning
The kingdom rejoiced as the lost heirs were restored.
The eldest prince became a symbol of strength.
The second prince guided the kingdom with wisdom.
And the princess… she became something greater than a ruler.
She became a legend.
A fearless soul who had faced betrayal, conquered magic, and chosen justice over vengeance.
And in time, people would tell her story—not just as a tale of wonders…
But as a reminder that truth, courage, and a pure heart can overcome even the darkest of fates.
---
And so, the tale of the Jealous Sisters and the Three Wonders lived on—whispered through generations, carried by the winds of time, and remembered wherever courage dared to rise.
