They saw nothing

The strange allegations were confirmed; 47 graves unearthed. Coffins emptied.

When caught, the perpetrator claimed he needed bodies– an offering to the Gods.

The officers laughed until the man's eyes glowed red. He then began levitating before vanishing from his cell.

They all agreed it never happened...

    Oooo, I wonder who he was, why he needed dead bodies as an offering for God, why specifically 47, which God was this, and how he disappeared. This seems like a good start to a story. Loved it!
