Nigerian actor John Okafor most popularly known as Mr. Ibu is no more, and was recently buried during a ceremony that was well attended by a lot of popular names and faces in the Nigerian entertainment industry. Amongst the guests present at the event was Patience Ozokwor, popularly known as Mama G who was a dear colleague of the deceased. A very heartbreaking moment during the burial was when Patience walked up to Mr. Ibu's corpse and broke down in tears. Now, she is speaking about why she broke down so badly, and cries out about the reason why so many of her colleagues keep dying, and what people should do to take care of themselves. Explaining why she broke down in tears during Mr. Ibu’s burial, Patience Ozokwo revealed how going up to his corpse and calling him by a name she used to call him and getting no response was the thing that ultimately led her to burst into tears. She said:

PATIENCE OZOKWO: At that moment, I broke down in tears. It’s not because I was expecting him to respond, but it was when I realized that this man is gone forever.

Speaking further about why her colleagues keep dying and urging everyone to do better, Patience Ozokwo said:

PATIENCE OZOKWO: When you are doing something, you are enjoying, you wouldn’t bother to take care of your health. Once there is life in you, you keep doing what you are doing. And it’s something that pays back on your body.

Some people are so careless that when they are sick instead of going to the hospital for a proper check-up, they prefer to visit a chemist or a pharmacy to buy a pain reliever. It’s no longer safe with me.

I don’t know how many people are thinking like myself. That’s why I blamed it on carelessness. We are trying to put smiles on the faces of people while forgetting to take care of our health.

Mr. Ibu's burial concluded peacefully and the late actor has now been laid to rest. We hope people take Patience Ozokwo's heed and be on the lookout for their own health so we stop losing so many beloved actors.
