Happy Birthday Olu Jacobs! Today, the beloved veteran actor is clocking 82 years, and the nation is celebrating this man who has been such a pioneer in the Nigerian movie industry, and a powerhouse talent.

Of all the things that have been trending, one post that has been making the waves on social media is a newspaper article from 2003. In the interview, Olu Jacobs talked about the story of how he met his wife Joke Silva, and the story is making people online swoon, especially now watching how their love has bloomed and has become enviable for many over the years. In the newspaper excerpt, Olu Jacobs was asked "How did you meet your wife?" to which he responded:

OLU JACOBS: I met her at the National Theatre in 1981. I was invited to act a play, to celebrate our 21st independent anniversary, and Joke and Jide acted in the play. We had dancers from Kano, Osun, Ogun, and other parts of the country. We had about 155 people on stage, we sang a song at the end of the show.

"How did you really meet her?"

OLU JACOBS: I was asked by the management of National Arts Theatre to direct the premiere of Wole Soyinka's play, Jero's Metamorphosis. In the play, I acted the part of Jero and Joke played Sister Rebecca. We were holding a meeting and the door opened, then Joke came in. When she entered, I just stopped and told everybody, this is the lady I am going to marry. They all laughed. She looked at me from head to toe, and later we became friends, and on and on we became lovers and we got married.

"Was that statement spiritual?"

OLU JACOBS: I am not an impulsive person. Usually, I am a shy person. When it comes to things like that I keep it private, I don't discuss it. I don't know why I said it, I don't know why. It was so strong when I said it. That was how I felt at that time and I couldn't help saying it.

Awww, Olu Jacobs and Joke Silva really have such an enviable relationship and marriage. It's wild that he knew from the moment he saw her! What a beautiful story.
