Natural Skincare tips for a beautiful and supple skin.

3 TYPES OF MUSTARD DOC SCRUB

By Sanjay SaxenaPublished 3 years ago 3 min read

Clear, smooth, supple, and beautiful skin is something everybody wants. In this world of dirt and pollution, here is a two-minute skincare regimen that would set you on the right path of a healthy supple and clear skin.

1. MUSTARD DEOILED CAKE POWDER SCRUB (DOC scrub)

  • Take a tablespoon of DOC powder,
  • Put 5-6 drops of water in it,
  • Wait for one minute.
  • The powder attains a coarse paste consistency.
  • Gently rub it on your wet face for a minute.
  • Let it remain there for half a minute and wash it off with lukewarm water.

Lo and behold, you get a fresh look and what is more, you feel good and squeaky clean too.

The DOC scrub has two benefits. It provides the coarseness to exfoliate the dead cells and the dirt from the skin. The mustard oil component in the DOC gives a far deeper and lasting effect as it contains Vitamin E and Alpha Linolenic acid which helps in hydrating and moisturising the skin. The isothiocyanate compounds in mustard oil act as anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal agents and help the skin to repair and block microbial growth. Mustard oil acts as an anti-oxidant and anti-aging agent as well.

Clean and repaired skin without impurities breathes better and hence the oxygen required is provided by better blood circulation. Dark spots and pigmentation are removed and the skin becomes clear, soft and supple. Do this once a week or even twice a week.

Go out and CONQUER the world with clear soft and glowing skin.

2. DOC WITH A PINCH OF TURMERIC POWDER.

  • Take a tablespoon of DOC powder.
  • Add a pinch of turmeric.
  • Put 5-6 drops of water in it.
  • Wait for one minute.
  • The powder attains a coarse paste consistency.
  • Gently rub it on your wet face for a minute.
  • Let it remain there for half a minute and wash it off with lukewarm water.

A pinch of turmeric powder is all you need to get the benefits of turmeric in this scrub. The oil in DOC acts as a carrier for the compounds of turmeric mainly curcumin and transports them inside the skin.

The bioactive compound curcumin fights free radical as it is high in anti-oxidants. It boosts collagen production and strengthens the elasticity of the skin. It also reduces the excess production of melanin and boosts the circulation of blood in the skin.

Therefore, addition of a pinch of turmeric has multifold benefits like slowing down skin ageing, reducing dark circles, lightening the skin and moisturising it, improving skin texture, helping in fighting acne, skin psoriasis and eczema, reducing puffiness of the skin. The list of healing properties goes on and on.

3. DOC WITH A DASH OF ALOE VERA GEL.

  • Take a tablespoon of DOC powder.
  • Add half a tablespoon of aloe vera gel.
  • Wait for one minute.
  • The powder attains a smooth paste consistency with granules.
  • Gently rub it on your wet face for a minute.
  • Let it remain there for half a minute and wash it off with lukewarm water.

Now the addition of aloe vera gel to the scrub adds multiple dimensions to the benefits of the scrub. Physically aloe vera gel make the texture of the scrub smoother and its application on the skin becomes all the more relaxing. As aloe vera gel contains 98% water, its first and foremost task is to moisturize the skin. It is rich in Vitamin A, C, E and B12. These all the vitamins therefore impart their own nutrition to the skin. Aloe vera gel fights acne, eczema and sunburn. It has anti-inflammatory properties and reduces pain, swelling and soreness of wounds and injuries

Aloe vera also supports the production and release of collagen, treats fungal and bacterial infections, slows down the ageing process of the skin and makes the skin more supple and flexible.

MYTH- Mustard oil darkens the skin.
