A Zen Mind Guided Meditations

A podcast to put your mind at ease.

One of the chronic health problems in the U.S. is getting to sleep and staying asleep. People who struggle overwhelmingly mention one impediment to nightly slumbers. Their mind is racing and won’t shut down, even as their body wants to.

Well, there’s an independent podcast for that! A Zen Mind Guided Meditations (AZM), hosted by Jo Rose, is a podcast offering gentle, accessible guided meditations to help listeners find peace, clarity, and self-compassion. New episodes are released on Sundays and Wednesdays on platforms like Spotify and Apple Podcasts, covering topics like stress reduction, gratitude, sleep, and somatic awareness

Creator/host Jo Rose offers a warm, soothing voice focused on calming the body and mind. It’s almost like ASMR. Rose offers a variety of practices, including mindfulness, meditation, EFT tapping, and visualization.

The show is suitable for both beginners and experienced practitioners looking for a safe, supportive space for self-inquiry. Many episodes focus on relaxing the nervous system, building self-trust, and cultivating compassion.

Rose has released over 200 episodes, with each episode averaging about 16 minutes, which seems like a perfect length for people. Long enough to settle the mind and body, and short enough to fit into your schedule.

As a newbie to the podcast, I immediately enjoyed the episodes that focused on specific areas and meditations. For example, Sleep Meditation: Fall Asleep Fast with Ocean Waves from March 25th is a sleep meditation that was created to help listeners release the day and drift into deep, restorative rest. The episode begins with a gentle 4–7–8 breathing rhythm to slow the body, followed by a soothing body scan guided by the natural rhythm of ocean waves.

Rose says, “This meditation is spacious, slow, and soothing for the mind, body, and soul.” She’s right, and I didn’t even get seasick.

Best Case Scenario: A Meditation to Ease Anxiety & Overthinking from February 9th is a meditation I desperately needed. Thankfully, Rose came through for me and the other listeners.

This meditation is a gentle practice for moments when your mind feels caught in worry, overthinking, or “what if” scenarios. Instead of trying to fight your thoughts, Rose shifts your attention toward the best possible outcome and allows your body to experience what it feels like when things work out in your favor.

During this practice, I was guided to soften the grip of anxious thinking, reconnect with my breath, and welcome the possibility that things can unfold smoothly and with ease. By focusing on the best-case scenario, I can begin to retrain my mind to meet uncertainty with calm rather than fear.

Rose reassures us in the episode: “This is a supportive meditation you can return to anytime you need reassurance, perspective, and a moment of steady grounding in the present.”

Jo Rose is a multifaceted entrepreneur, TEDx speaker, and MBA holder known for founding A Zen Mind, a globally focused meditation podcast created in 2023 to make mindfulness accessible. Rose formerly worked in corporate tech, where she transitioned to coaching and wellness.

The show just released a rebranding earlier this week, focusing on the brand’s design, the website, the podcast cover art, and integrating the podcast more closely with the AZM community via retreats and in-person events.

This podcast aims to bridge mindful, conversational content with practical, short-form meditations that can be integrated into daily life. There’s a lot of external stress in our lives right now. Add rising prices, a flagging job market, politicians controlled by billionaires, and you’ll need A Zen Mind Guided Meditations to get through the day.
