Am I Saying it all wrong?

It’s all a muddle puddle of nothing

Am I Saying it all wrong?

Is fluid retention caused by bitter tears,

Is heartbreak caused by the hurt you hit mine with?

Is longing the result of blindly pretending not to see?

And sore eyes caused by looking at what was never to be.

Is silence the echo of words swallowed whole,

Is weakness just the weight of a soul turned cold?

Is loneliness stitched from the threads you left loose,

And regret the reflection of chances refused?

Is time the accomplice of wounds left to sting,

Is memory the jailer that clips every wing?

Is love just a ghost that lingers too long,

And hope just a whisper in a half written songs?

I feel so encased, trapped like a dying bird

The cage of depression a place for no words.
