Another Nostalgia Story
When I was a little kid in a village in India

Nostalgic I am
and art comes to my rescue.
I cannot bring back time
but I can relive moments
by my paintings.
So, I did a theme close to my heart,
monsoon times
in our village home.
In the backyard
we are under a bamboo thicket.
The soil is fertile,
a farmer digs furrows.
My mother and I
plant taro and peanuts.
Near the compost pile
mango saplings grow.
A cow munches straw
from the hay pile.
Orange tree stands nearby.
From the brick wall
maidenhair fern pokes out.
At that time, i was innocent
I had zero idea,
about the stresses we face now.
I had not heard of
cancer, inflammation,
suicide, or depression,
had not seen death.
Just security, abundance,
rules my world.
