Broken Bones, Sticks, and Stones
Hurt and pain your never the same again

Broken Bones, Sticks, and Stones
Sticks and stones break your bones,
But words will never harm.”
Yet echoes linger, whispered tones,
A curse wrapped in false charm.
A bruise will fade, a bone will mend,
The skin grows strong once more.
words, oh words, they twist and bend,
And leave a deeper sore.
The broken sticks lay in the dust,
The stones are weathered smooth.
But scars of trust turned into rust
Are harder to remove.
So here I stand, with scars well-worn,
A mix of strength and pain.
For every wound that words have sworn,
I rise and start again

A testament to the destructive power of verbal abuse and the indomitability of the human spirit. Nicely done.
