Close Your Eyes Don’t Peep at the Peepers
Peepers are creepers. I shut my eyes it keeps the out

Close Your Eyes Don’t Peep at the Peepers
Curtains move slightly.
A breath against glass.
Someone is watching.
I feel it like heat.
Street empty but humming.
A car door slams softly.
Steps on wet pavement.
No one there when I look.
Shutters creak open.
Light cuts the room.
My hands tremble.
I pull them back.
Close your eyes she said.
Do not look at them.
Do not breathe too loud.
Do not blink twice.
Their eyes are small lights.
Flickers at the edge.
Never full faces.
Only the stare.
I hide under the table.
Dust in my mouth.
Shadows on the floor.
My heart in my hands.
The peepers circle slowly.
Voices under their breath.
I count to twenty.
I dare not move.
Silence grows thick.
The air cracks open.
I keep them shut.
Darkness keeps me.

One must be careful shutting our eyes for one can never tell when something will hit out of the blue. Keep your eyes open. Good job,
