If I Were Evergreen

would my limbs snap from the weight they hold from snow?

or would I remain steadfast for the lives that lie beneath,

knowing I am a home to many?

—yeah no—

calculating how you provide to others

can't be a means to withstand harsher conditions

let your limbs go if nature says so

the rest is none of your business

you are just a tree.
