If You Give a Dog a Home
To all dog lovers out there. Make it for life please not for an unwanted gift, if you gift a dog

If You Give a Dog a Home
If you give a dog a home, let it be for life,
Not just for Christmas, fleeting delight.
With ribbons and bows, they may bring you cheer,
But their love is forever, not just one year.
They’ll wag their tails and warm your heart,
But their journey with you is just the start.
Through frosty mornings and sunny skies,
They’ll look to you with trusting eyes.
So, if you bring them into your space,
Offer them kindness, love, and grace.
Not a gift to unwrap and then set aside,
But a loyal soul with whom to abide.
For every bark, every paw at the door,
They’ll offer you love, and so much more.
So, choose with care, this choice is grand—
A lifelong friend deserves your hand.
This Christmas, remember, their heart’s not a toy,
But a boundless source of life and joy.
If you give a dog a home, do it right,
For their love will shine through every night.

so beautiful and heart warming..lovely
As a owner of 4 dogs, this landed for me. Beautiful poem.
So well said… complete with rhythm and rhyme🤩… my first dog led an eventful life in his 13 years of life…my current rascal is an 11 year old grey beard 🐕🦺.
So absolutely true. Too many people want a cut gamboling PUPPY …. But don’t want a dog … It’s so sad. Lovely poem.
