Kindness of a Colleague
Makes me think of her in respect

One of the nicest colleagues,
I have ever got, was a Muslim girl,
a Palestinian refugee.
The two month I worked with her,
she mentored me with complex molecular techniques.
At the same time being vulnerable,
and acting like a balm,
as I was anxious about the new job responsibilities,
and other personal reasons.
One day, our work continued until midnight,
as we ran into some technical issue.
So, she even invited me to her place,
she made me a delicious sandwich.
I slept in her living room couch,
with her cat hovering around.
Many years have passed since then,
and I think of her with respect.
Kindness is beyond religion.
