Meet George JetSet

A Truly Rosie Morning in 2150 for Tim Carmichael’s Unofficial Challenge: Time Traveler Poetry for National Poetry Month

By Andrew C McDonaldPublished a day ago Updated about 9 hours ago 1 min read

‘Wake up sir. Time for your sonic shower.”

“Go away Rosie,” I muttered with a glower.

“Curtains translucent,” her tinny reply.

“Deities below!” I shouted, sun in my eyes.

As the levitation field activated, I found my self erect;

Facing an array of buttons from which to select

Choosing cleansing spray-tan and blond for my hair,

I decided to not let Rosie ruin a day fair.

Tanned and bleached I said “Bring me my clothes,”

“Also an epidermal swipe for this shiny nose.”

Rosie zipped up, her titanium arms stacked:

An assortment of outfits, choice not lacked.

Sonic shorts for the legs; Programmable shirt for my torso:

As she patted them smooth, gentleness she did not forego.

I synthesized some coffee, caffeine added.

Zipped 0n mesh loafers liberally siliconed and padded.

Stepping 0n the balcony I looked down from above;

Knowing a fall wasn’t possible, open air just for show.

With a chuckle I pushed at the transparent shielding

Surrounding my high perch, surface unyielding.

As my SkyCab zipped up I turned off the field

Clambered up the ramp into cabin tight sealed.

Off to the beach I instructed the robo-driver.

‘Bye George,” Rosie waved and vibed a high-fiver.

    Is this based on the Jetson cartoon? I've not watched any episode before, so I don't know if any of these are references 😅😅 Loved your poem!
