Psychedelic Sheep

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished about 6 hours ago 1 min read

(Verse 1)

Well, I’m the psychedelic sheep, the rainbow in their gray,

The one they whisper stories ’bout at every holiday.

They packed their bags of judgment, and they headed out the door,

And suddenly my life got quiet — who could ask for more?

(Chorus)

’Cause loving from afar is underrated bliss,

Like sending them a postcard saying, “Please don’t take this amiss…”

I’m thriving on an island where the boundaries run deep,

Sipping peace and quiet — signed, the psychedelic sheep.

(Verse 2)

No more walking on those eggshells like a circus acrobat,

No more dodging flying tantrums like emotional dodgeball mats.

I used to brace for impact every time the phone would beep,

Now the only thing that rings is my freedom — and it’s sweet.

(Chorus)

Yeah, loving from afar is a misunderstood art,

It’s caring with some distance to protect your tender heart.

I’m lounging in the sunshine while they stew and while they sleep,

Living my best life now — your friendly neighborhood sheep.

(Bridge)

Maybe one day they’ll evolve, or maybe they’ll just stay the same,

But either way I’ve found my groove, and I’m not playing that game.

I’ll send them love and blessings, but I’m keeping all my peace,

’Cause drama’s overrated and serenity’s a feast.

(Final Chorus)

So here’s to loving from afar, the healthiest retreat,

A boundary-built vacation that can’t be beat.

I’m dancing in my colors while the world counts sheep —

But honey, I’m the technicolor, psychedelic sheep.

For Fun
