Rush Of Memories

The ones that keep coming back

Some days are just too long to keep on going

As the memories come back

This area was something else that I so dearly loved

Stripped away for another bogus plan all along

It is where I buried my heart once it was ripped out

From the area ahead full of cowards no doubt

Then I could stand it being that I was moved away

Then sent back for another terrible idea came

Here I look the best I and forget my heart exists

Trying to forget the hurt and pain that does not seem to go away

The memories can be good of the time and the bad ones too

This place will never be the same again

Sarah, I like your poem and can relate to it so much. When life knocks us down, as it often will, we find ways to start again, but things will never be the same. Well spoken!
