Author's Notes: Oh, how happy I was when all those words had three syllables! This is another entry into my ongoing "scratches in my mind" series of senryu.

I love that the title's first part plays into the poem's themes in addition to just representing the series!

    A moral lesson with a cogent warning. I love the use of apathy, atrophy, entropy and dystrophy for a downward trending pathway to a loss of empathy. Perceptive, deep and wise as always, Paul!
