Show Me Your Fist And I Will Kill You

Domestic abuse, don’t even try it with me

Show Me Your Fist And I Will Kill You

Show me your fist, I know that sign,

A threat you think will make me blind,

But I have stood in darker places,

And faced far worse than angry faces.

You raise your hand, you think I fear,

But something colder lives in here,

A quiet strength, a steady flame,

That does not bow, that will not tame.

I have been broken, torn, and scarred,

I have been pushed, I have been barred,

Yet still I stand, I do not fall,

I rise, I answer every call.

Your rage is loud, but it is thin,

A hollow shout beneath the skin,

You wear it like a borrowed crown,

But truth will always drag it down.

I do not need to strike you back,

Your own path walks a darker track,

For those who live by force and fear,

Will find their end already near.

So show your fist, and make it clear,

But know I will not disappear,

I stand unshaken in this place,

And meet you eye to eye, to face.

No blood is needed to be strong,

No violence proves where you belong,

The fiercest wars are fought within,

Where silence cuts beneath the skin.

You think control is what you hold,

But truth is never bought or sold,

It rises slow, it stands its ground,

And turns the weak into the sound.

So lower now what you have raised,

Step back from all your anger crazed,

For I will not become your war,

I am much more than what you saw.

And if you strike, then understand,

You face a soul that will not bend,

Not through fear, nor through your cry,

I live, I stand, I do not die.

When I first read the title, I thought, now there is some irony. Then as I reads your poem unfold, I got it. I like these lines: "For those who live by force and fear, Will find their end already near." If only they were always true.
