The Gate of Ash
The gate is wide, yet no one dares enter.
Its towers burn, without a flame.
The ground is black, the stones are torn.
The air is thick, with smoke of souls.
I walk alone, the gate awaits.
Its iron teeth, are sharp with rust.
The shadows climb, they claw the walls.
The silence grows, and cracks the sky.
Beneath my feet, the earth is blind.
It feels the weight, of what I bring.
The dead have left, their names in ash.
The gate records, what none forget.
I lift my hand, the lock breaks open.
The air ignites, with cries and thunder.
The world behind, is not the same.
The gate of ash, has claimed me whole.

Most creative and well written,
There seems to be a lot to think about with one. Is it the gate to Heaven or gates of Hell? or is it describing what is going on down here on Earth? Good work.
