The Light You Carry Forward

There is a light you carry with you,

Not given, but slowly made,

Through every time you chose to stand,

Even when you were afraid.

It is not bright in every moment,

It does not always clearly shine,

Sometimes it flickers in the darkness,

Barely holding through the time.

But it remains, it does not vanish,

No matter how the night may fall,

For it was built through all your trials,

Through everything you gave your all.

You may forget that it is there,

When the world feels far too much,

But it returns in quiet ways,

Through memory, thought and touch.

It lives in how you face the struggle,

In how you choose to rise again,

In every time you kept on moving,

Despite the weight, despite the pain.

This light is not for perfect moments,

It is not there for show or praise,

It is the truth of who you are now,

Formed across your hardest days.

The road may stretch before you,

With no clear end and no clear guide,

You carry something strong within you,

That will not leave your side.

It will lead you when you trust it,

When you stop and let it be,

A quiet force that keeps you moving,

Toward the life you’re meant to see.

You are not lost, you are not empty,

You are not broken beyond repair,

You are someone shaped by fire,

And still standing, still aware.

So walk forward with that knowing,

Let it settle, let it stay,

For the light you carry with you,

Will not lead you far astray.
