It's beautiful, she says

Inspecting the new artist's painting.

I hate it, she says

Destroying her finished canvas

You're so smart, she muses

Listening to her mother talk.

You're so stupid, she muses

Scratching through her journal entry

She's so pretty, she thinks

Smiling at her best friend

She's so ugly, she thinks

Staring into the bathroom mirror

What talent, we think

So intelligent, we muse

A beautiful woman, we think

If only she could see through our eyes.

About the Creator

Jean-François Lamothe

I mainly write fiction in the fantasy and its neighbouring genres. I love writing stories that are not of this world. I want my writing to be an escape. I enjoy writing short stories, but also hope to write longer works in the future.
