Visiting A Forgotten Neighbor
Loosely Inspired And Submitted To The What Comes Back Challenge

With an ignited blast
Many remembered the patriotic past
When
John Glenn
Took a trip around the world
Performing a galactic twirl
Riding friendship seven
Into the heavens
Proving it can be done
And Nasa’s public support won
Now a new century has dawn
Artemis one and two have been spawned
Shot into the air
Using a wing and flare
Nothing could compare
Accepting this orbital dare
Sparking those
Friends and foes
Rekindle thoughts
About dreams once sought
Ask were they reached?
And left like waves, hitting the beach
Or was achievement earned
Something learned
Priority lessons and concerns
Artemis two will soon shed a teardrop
Come home, not taking a rest stop
Playing a golf round
On course Nicklaus and Palmer found
Protected by the Apollo spear
There will be no fear
Unlike a bogey five on the final hole
When it's discovered the Pacific Ocean is that cold
Realizing space program is maturing, getting wiser, we are told
And will not fold
Instead, soon
Build strong relationships with our neighbor, the moon
