WILD Born.

Don't edit your soul. Saying it plainly

By Antoni De'LeonPublished about 4 hours ago 2 min read

"Don’t bend; don’t water it down; don’t try to make it logical; don’t edit your own soul according to the fashion. Rather, follow your most intense obsessions mercilessly". (Franz Kafka).

We are born wild naked pure

our souls uncaged

our possibilities limitless.

we are born

with the sky still clinging to us ~

dust contaminating our lungs,

a slap our first sensation...

the world trying to figure us out,

and press us flat,

like the hair of a Black Woman...unkinked

humanity will try everything in it's power

to name us something smaller

than the truth of our recalling -

-----Somewhere somehow we forgot our wildness

became tame...

But the wild remembers.

it stirs in the quiet hours,

pressing against our conscious thoughts,

asking to be let back in

into the open...under the untamed skies -

when did we learn to cover our naked beauty

to be ashamed of our natural nature

becoming domesticated in our thinking...

our existing

we should never silence our thirst for freedom,

nor allow it to be filed down...

let it speak in its own strange idioms

it's figurative, cultural identity

let it move the way storms move ---

with purpose

beyond permission.

Carry that unmistakable feral clarity Kafka points us toward - an insistence that the inner flame not be trimmed to fit the world’s small containers.

Stay in that wild un-editing...widen the field you’ve opened, keep holding on to the cadence of your spacing. Let it be your refusal to compress the wild into a single line.

Your spacing creates a mind slipping between bars, refusing to be held still. The tension between “wild things” and “imprisoned minds” is the tension of every creative life.

Keep pulling on the correct threads...

Wildness is birthright - unbounded possibility.

Caging can be subtle - there may not be iron bars...but norms, politeness, productivity, “logic.”

The soul must not be edited - Heed Kafka’s warning.

See Possibility as something that expands when inured minds break their own shapes.

Your spacing...

~is a visual rebellion, a refusal to march in straight lines.

Vastness exists upon life's immeasurable loom

Keep doing, rebelling - dreaming

even if it happens -

only in your imagination....

DREAM MERCILESSLY!
