Bomber Jackets Take Over After The Shows

Just a few hours after the London Fashion Week shows ended, some standout pieces quickly started appearing in editors’ wardrobes. The morning after Simone Rocha’s autumn/winter 2026 show at Alexandra Palace, which featured a highly talked-about Adidas collaboration British Vogue’s Mahoro Seward and Jack O’Neill arrived at The Adelphi wearing classic tri-stripe jackets.

On my commute to the office the morning after the shows finished, I noticed another stylish moment. Contributing stylist Jessica Gerardi was wearing a vintage Junya Watanabe bomber jacket with foulard silk details. It looked like a piece that could easily have appeared on several London Fashion Week runways.

The Vogue Office’s Love For The MA1 Jacket

Admiring an MA1 jacket is nothing new inside the Vogue office. Many editors already keep different versions by Louis Vuitton, Stefan Cooke, Frankie Shop and Alpha Industries hanging over their chairs. However, the autumn/winter 2026 catwalks at London Fashion Week have made our love for the bomber jacket even stronger.

At her show, Simone Rocha sent both boys and girls down the runway wearing cozy khaki nylon bomber jackets lined with faux fur. She also added her practical snorkel necklines to zip-on scarves. These pieces created an interesting contrast with softer looks such as delicate bralettes, cardigans, beaded dresses, and checked skirt suits.

The Inspiration Behind Simone Rocha’s Jackets

Simone Rocha’s outerwear inspiration came from Perry Ogden’s famous 1999 portrait series Pony Kids. The series captured buzzcut-wearing, shellsuit-loving boys at a horse fair in Smithfield, Dublin, which is Rocha’s hometown. This inspiration gave the bomber jackets a mix of street style and nostalgic character.

Other Standout Bomber Jacket Moments

Many other designers also presented exciting versions of the bomber jacket during London Fashion Week.

Petra Fagerström introduced a silk bomber jacket with corset-style details inspired by the costumes worn by figure skaters, with a small nod to Alysa Liu. Chopova Lowena presented floral jacquard bomber jackets with Argyle collars and curved zipper pouches inspired by golf bags.

Selasi created a luxurious leather bomber jacket with loose sleeves inspired by sports hall silhouettes. Meanwhile, Knwls designed a faux-fur funnel-neck bomber jacket as part of a collection featuring detachable collars inspired by historical ruffs. Burberry’s Best Of British Bomber Jacket

One of the final highlights came from Burberry’s closing looks. The brand presented bomber jackets in glossy midnight-blue silk, rich plum leather worn by Romeo Beckham, and soft faux fur made with the label’s famous Nova check pattern.

The Perfect Jacket For British and Canadian Weather

In 2026, Brits have dealt with almost two straight months of rain. Because of this, Burberry’s collection, designed for nightlife wardrobes really connected with people.

The idea is simple: wear a bomber jacket over a sequined dress, pair a trench coat with velvet trousers, or zip a quilted biker jacket over a flowing silk shirt. According to creative director Daniel Lee, these looks work whether you are going to “a film premiere, or a charity gala; a nightclub.”

Why The Bomber Jacket Works With Everything

The best thing about London Fashion Week’s creative approach to the bomber jacket is that it is both practical and stylish. It can easily be paired with many different looks. From Chopova Lowena’s Regency-style pleats to Knwls’ Victoriana designs and Simone Rocha’s romantic sportswear style, the bomber jacket proves it can truly work with almost anything.
