No King Rallies in America.
Protests Against Trump.

Trump has been compared to the Dictator King of Tudor times, Henry 8th. Henry the 8th's court was full of gossip of who was in and who was out when it came to the king's favour. The king was probably mentally unstable, with fits of anger, and changing his mind or being inconsistent. People remained loyal to him out of fear, a court of yes men and women. People were afraid to tell the king the truth or the error of his ways lest they upset him. The same system seems to operate in the Court of King Donald. Trump is a self-obsessed man who wants all eyes on him, who lashes out when things don't go his way, a little like the Tudor King.
The US fought Britain so it could be free of the monarchy. The ironic thing, though, is that the British Royal Family fascinates many Americans. It's doubtful if you will ever not see an article on them, a documentary, the good, the bad, and the ugly of this ancient line. George Washington was offered the crown to be King of the fledgling US, but he would not accept it because that's what the American Revolution was about. To free themselves from the rule of a British King and not to replace it with one of their own. Hence, the leaders of America ever since have been presidents who serve an 8-year term (if re-elected), and that's the end. However, Trump has muted the notion of a third term, but given the American Constitution, that is highly unlikely. Conversely, I wouldn't put it past him to try to change this so he can serve a third term.
Trump, right now, according to an NBC poll, is at his lowest rating of 36% since he took back power. Trump promised America First, but if anything, in starting this war with Iran, which Netanyahu may or may not have tricked him into doing, it certainly isn't America First. Ordinary Americans, like many in the Western world, are suffering a cost-of-living crisis. With this war now raging, and with the Iranians only allowing ships through from countries they are not at war with, it is creating a crisis in the West. Demonstrations against Trump have broken out, called "No King" protests. Even among his staunchest MAGA supporters, they are beginning to lose faith in the Prince of Orange (Trump). Protests have broken out in Washington, New York, and Los Angeles. Celebs love to attach themselves to popular causes either to seem relevant or out of a genuine concern. Bruce Springsteen, aka Dominic Croft, turned up at one of these rallies doing his impression of Bob Dylan with guitar and harmonica.
So what are the issues that are causing people to come out onto the street besides Trump thinking he is a reincarnation of Henry 8th? Well, Trump, like many a politician, promised much and has delivered little for some. The man who promised "no more forever wars" like Iraq and Afghanistan has started one. Protests are about immigration, Iran, inflation, and yes, that good old bane of the poor, the cost-of-living. With prices now being ramped up even more by the Iran War.
Midterm elections are coming up soon. The Democrats will be hoping to build on Trump's poor performance in the NBC poll. If the midterms go against Trump, he only has himself to blame. He will blame everyone but himself. Either that or he will hunker down and carry on anyway. On the Iran War, Trump's narrative changes from minute to minute, hour to hour, day to day, and month to month.
Meanwhile, the average working-class American will be at the mercy of the whims of this unpredictable president.
