Miami is the new hub for sports investments: This is how the US MLS is reshaping the global map of sport’s business
Messi’s arrival in the US MLS (Major League Soccer) happened at a tipping point for Miami. The US city is already experiencing a “seismic” growth both nationally and internationally in terms of sports, fashion, food and finance investments. It so happens that Miami has also become a world reference for the top sports including basketball, football, baseball, tennis, golf and now even soccer.

Warren Buffett, the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway presents Q2 earnings
Ten years ago, I attended my first Berkshire and Hathaway shareholder’s meeting. It was a Saturday, and CEO Warren Buffett opened the annual meeting presenting the quarterly results. At the time, I thought this was odd given that the markets were closed, as most companies report earnings during market hours. After Buffet’s introductory remarks though, it became clear that Berkshire was increasingly concerned about the accounting complexities of reporting financials, and Mr. Buffett spent significant time detailing how investors should treat financial reporting cautiously.

Bad Is More Powerful Than Good: Use It To Your Advantage
I started thinking about the power of bad because even the positive media articles tend to have a slightly negative title as in doing so they sell more. Sensationalist bad is particularly captivating and attracts more readers and ultimately makes the news and journalists more money. It is also perceived as being more truthful than positive or neutral news.

What Is the Climate Summit COP28? Why does it matter? And what is the United Arab Emirates objective?. Content Warning.
The Climate Conference of the Parties (COP) is the most prominent annual summit which is organized by the United Nations under the leadership of a rotating selected country. Last year it was organized by Egypt, and the previous by the UK. The conference has been held annually since the first United National climate agreement in 1992. This summit is used by governments and other key stakeholders to agree on policies to limit global temperature rises and adapt to impacts caused by climate change and variability. One of the most important recent COP summits was the COP15 that was held in Paris in 2015 and which resulted in the Paris Climate Agreements. This is a legally binding agreement with the overarching goal to limit the increase in the global average temperature to below 2°C above pre-industrial levels and promote investment to limit the temperature increase to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. This general movement is now captured by a relatively new trend called Net-Zero.

Arab Women entrepreneurs on the rise: Follow the money
As I started working on women entrepreneurship in 2011, I was fortunate to work with formidable Arab women entrepreneurs across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). It was thanks to these women who met between Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, Lebanon, Djibouti, and Egypt that I was able to bring different partners together and launch the first MENA women entrepreneur investment program. I did that as the World Bank resilience regional coordinator. The program was challenged in Washington as it moved away from the traditional analytical and lending operational work that the World Bank promoted. However, by 2014 it had become a multi-million-dollar women focused investment program and an institutional example of how Public Private Partnership (PPP) can empower women entrepreneurs, create jobs, and economic resilience.
