The Midnight Battle of Good and Evil
This poem was inspired by the original Disney animated film Fantasia. It ends as the demons who ruled the night flee as church bells ring, and morning dawns. This poem was also inspired by my experiences as a church prayer intercessor from 5-6 am for 4 years.

Shamrock House Plants have benefits
Shamrock Season is here The shamrock is a small three-leaf plant associated with Ireland and popular during Spring. You begin to see them sold in stores in March, which is the beginning of their season. There is much more to this foliage than a ground covering or being worn on a leprechaun's hat.

Haunted doll that is creepier than Annabelle
A Haunted doll? In 2014, I found a cloth rag doll at a thrift store one evening and decided to give it to my 3-year-old granddaughter, Jayla. The doll was in fair condition and had a few faded spots. She was wearing a long dress that looked like something out of the Antebellum era, and I visualized a little girl running through the yard playing with her.

This Little Light of Mine was written to praise Jesus
The subject of the light There are television commercials that use the chorus of This Little Light of Mine. The song is also used as a lulaby for children. I grew up at a time when children sang this song in church and it was understood that the "light" was Jesus Christ.

Social Media is not "Dear Diary"
This poem was inspired by the number of women who become angry at their husbands and tell all of their business on Facebook. They share how their husbands mistreat them and say they are putting them out, only to later share how wonderful their spouse is. The cycle repeats as they complain, say divorce is coming, then reconcile over and over. People have a right to do whatever they choose. Younger women have told me this. Still, I share this musing of an older boomer.
