Tales from Beyond: the Haunted Letter Challenge
Hey Everyone - I'm a judge for this Challenge and I'd really love to read your entries! Details are in the link at the end of my own haunted letter below. Use your imagination and give us a story that's lighthearted or not-for-the-faint-of-heart, humorous or dead serious or undead serious. Go ahead - take a stab at it :) Here's mine (just for fun, obviously not competing):

A Good Story . Top Story - September 2025.
Hemingway said: "The first draft of anything is shit." But for one particular screenplay that I laboured over, the second, third and fourth drafts were also going to be shit. And it would stay that way until I made some big changes. So, I had to start over, almost from scratch. I had to get back to craft. And I had to abandon proselytizing.

Jayla Mile. Last Chapters
20. Divining Stone: Gradually an awakening is taking place, the removal of a cast, a sort of sandblast to the senses, stripping away years of dusty thoughts and ancient pain. Layer by layer, a gauze is unraveling, a loose gossamer strand left blowing in the breeze. And Jayla Mile is hurting from the exposure.

Jayla Mile. Chapters 18 & 19
18. Angel in Black: Following Jay’s flight from the prayer gathering, she made daily pilgrimages to the park. Three days in a row she trekked the worn route only to find God in the same way she had that night - in the song of chickadees, in the flight of sparrows. She’d walk on through the city and then back to the house of the old man, for even if her beach pals could entertain her along with their leftover Christmas guests, she was feeling too disillusioned for the wonderment of their Yuletide.

Jayla Mile. Chapter 17
17. Holy Disorder: And so Mile merged with pure impure Gold in the big brass bed night after night. Forsaking Cornerstone and beach pals, she holed up with Gold in his house where they practiced their own divine brand of Original Sin. That is, until the day he dropped her off at the Centre of the Holy Order.

Jayla Mile. Chapters 14, 15, 16
14. Gone for Gold In the wee hours of their first tryst, The Ride of the Valkyrie can be heard throughout the house, and Gold pours Jay more cognac while she pours herself a hot bath. When she is clean and towel-wrapped he leads her to a room where she sits down on the edge of a big brass bed. The frame gleams in the moonlight. He stands before her and she encircles him with her wet goose-bumped arms. Her towels fall. He pushes her softly into the bed, covers her with a cool quilt and leaves the room. Shivering and wet, she curls up and drifts off to restless dreams.
