Why I Believe Our Autistic Children Are Earth Angels
He was just a boy, a little boy, my Elijah, when he insisted he was an angel receiving his wings. Of course, I chalked it all up to a child with an overactive imagination, but the mother in me listened while he told his tale. "I feel them trying to push through my back," he cried joyously, lifting his shirt, and directing my attention a few inches below his shoulder blades.

If You See Something, Say Something
As a loyal Vocal Media writer since 2020, I admit my self-confidence has grown over the past five years. Sure, my creative eye has gotten a boost as expected with time and practice, but my oomph to speak up when I see something wrong, well, that energy has skyrocketed tenfold.

Longing For Green
Good morning, Vocal Media community! Welcome to another edition of my Monday Morning Huddle, a special one, marking St Patrick's Day. With Spring only days away, vibrations of green seem most fitting. Pair it with leprechaun tales, folklore, and all things holiday-related and we have the makings for a magickal edition of my year-long project created to uplift the human spirit.

Raw to Remix- 53 & Me. Runner-Up in Self-Editing Epiphany Challenge.
The crows have landed, I see imperfection. Fifty times around the sun plus three more to rub my nose in it. Love yourself, they say, age with grace. But celebrities don't, so why should I? Botox and fillers- a facelift will do. Don't take age lying down, invoke skin resurrection. "You look good for your age." What the hell does that mean? Under eye bags, a deep forehead wrinkle leaves no secrets on my face. Social media spites me and forwardly invites me: To challenge Father Time with "Yeah, I'm about to get mine." Creams, potions, and diet, already tried it. So, I'm about to go in for hand assisted fixes and take a page from the famous. If you ask me later, know I denied it. This is all natural, don't you see; me at 53!

Emphasizing The Whoosh; a March Perspective. Top Story - March 2025.
Good afternoon, Vocal Media community and welcome to my first Monday huddle of March! Sorry I missed you last week but I couldn't capture my intended photographs to my liking which are relevant to my story. As an avid birder, I often capture their flight patterns on film, but for this particular prompt, the whoosh, I found my task a bit tricky, especially with the speed of the implied word.

The Story Continues Responding to JBAZ
"Now, I said now!" Carl yelled. "Grab the kids. We have to leave!" Jaylene scurried from the kitchen, up the stairs, bounding by twos to collect the children. She had never seen Carl act like that before with such command over his words. What the hell was going on, she thought, her mind racing a mile a minute while she faked a calm demeanor, throwing jackets and sneakers on little ones.

Longing for Spring's Sweet Cherry Kiss
Good morning, Vocal Media community, and happy Monday, February 24! Today is the last Monday of the month and since Spring is only weeks away, I dug up an old photo for the latest edition of my huddle. If you are anything like me and over the wintry weather then have no fear; a Cherry Blossom will bring you cheer!

Peace Found in Stormy Weather; Tearing Down Walls
Happy Monday, Vocal Media community, and welcome to another edition of my morning huddle, a year-long weekly feature! First, I apologize for not publishing last week. Work demands got in the way, interfering with my creative time. I spent plenty of time beating myself up as this project holds great personal meaning- then something happened that uplifted my spirit. The results of Vocal's New Year, New Projects challenge were posted and I was delighted to find my entry as one of the runner-up winners.
