Sailing on the Sea
“Sloop John B” was originally published as “The John B. Sails”. It was a Bahamian folk song from Nassau. In 1966 the American rock band The Beach Boys recorded the song as a folk rock adaptation. It was released as a single and on their album Pet Sounds. The song was ranked at number 276 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of “The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time”.

Beautiful Juneau
The capital city of the US state of Alaska is also known as the City and Borough of Juneau. It is located on the Gastineau Channel and the Alaskan panhandle. Of interest is that there is no road leading to Juneau. This small coastal city can only be reached by air or sea.

Long Live Love
This lovely and talented lady is a British and Australian singer, songwriter and actress. Olivia Newton-John who had won four Grammy Awards, had five number one singles, ten Billboard Hot 100 singles and two number one Billboard 200 solo albums. Her albums have gone platinum and gold. The music she sang ranged from pop to country to adult contemporary and she has sold around 100 million records all over the globe. She became very popular after starring with John Travolta in the musical “Grease”.

Exploring Ethiopia
Located on the border between Ethiopia and Eritrea the Danakil Depression is one of the driest and hottest places on Earth. Here you can find active volcanoes, salted basins, hot springs and a lava lake. It sits below sea level and is the lowest point in Africa and second in the world after the Dead Sea. Despite the heat, this is one amazing place to take a closer look at so come prepared and enjoy the beauty.

Ljubljana on the Ljubljanica River
Ljubljana is the capital and largest city of Slovenia. The symbol of this impressive and beautiful city is the dragon. The dragon dominates the iconic Dragon Bridge and the popular tourist attraction Ljubljana Castle. Ljubljana is a green city and has many lovely parks and a botanical garden. Its largest park is Tivoli right in the center. Tourists enjoy taking cruises on the Ljubljanica River.

Two Memorable Bands
Freddie and the Dreamers This is a really dreamy kind of name for a rock band. These guys were British and they had a number of hit records back in the 1960s. Onstage they also put on an act with comic antics for everyone’s delight. They continued to play for their fans until December of 2000 playing for the last time at Margate Winter Gardens in the UK.

Eritrea in the Horn of Africa
The Horn of Africa is a peninsula in Northeast Africa, jutting out hundreds of kilometers into the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean, lying along the southern side of the Gulf of Aden. The countries in the Horn are Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia and Somalia.
