Dance Me to the End of Love
Let’s step into the very first week of 2023 dancing! Hope you all have a healthy and progressive and successful year! “Dance (While the Music Still Goes On)” by Swedish pop group ABBA was written by group members Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus. It is on their second album Waterloo which was released in 1974. The title track of this album won ABBA the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest and launched their career.

Dancing Butterflies
“Elusive Butterfly” is a popular song that was written by American folk music singer and lyricist Bob Lind. The song came out as a single in 1965 and was on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Adult Contemporary charts. Due to the song becoming a regional hit on Florida radio stations it was reissued in 1966 and was in the Top Ten on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song is on Lind’s debut album and is titled “Don’t Be Concerned” according to the opening lyric of the chorus of “Elusive Butterfly.”

Brisbane on the Brisbane River
The capital of Queensland is a modern city sitting on the banks of the Brisbane River. It is Australia’s third largest city with the old mingling with the modern. It has a mild subtropical climate with lots of green spaces to enjoy.

Adventures in Saskatchewan
Saskatchewan is a province in western Canada. It borders Alberta to the west, the Northwest Territories to the north, Manitoba to the east, Nunavit to the northeast, and the US states of Montana and North Dakota to the south. The province is very beautiful with many rivers, reservoirs, and lakes. Most people live in the largest city Saskatoon, or the capital of the province, Regina. The first language of the province is English and it is the sunniest province in Canada.

For Auld Lange Syne
Denmark People don't throw away old dishes but hold on to them all year long. When New Year's Eve arrives they throw the dishes at a neighbor's or friend's door. A symbol of having many friends is a lot of broken dishes. People gather to hear the New Year's message from Amalienborg Palace. In Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark the Town Hall clock strikes in the New Year at midnight. Many people gather in Radhuspladsen to cheer and watch fireworks as they light up the sky and one can see the parade of the Royal Guard in their red gala uniforms.

Entering Paradise
It was bright, silvery, and so very big. It was a full moon and it appeared to be bobbing ahead of me, at the end of a tree-lined path. So odd I thought, so unusual, but the trees were draped in lacy, Spanish moss. To my left was a river and it appeared that I was in the bayou. I? In the bayou, in New Orleans, Louisiana, a state I had never been in, and yet, here I was.

Gateway to the Great Barrier Reef
Considered to be the gateway to Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, Cairns is a city on the tropical northeast coast of Far North Queensland. At one time this was a sleepy sugar-milling town and is now the destination for people who want to go sailing, diving, and snorkeling. There are many fascinating things to see and adventures to be had.

Laurie’s Christmas Miracle
Laurie was a lovely girl of eight with long, red curls and shinning green eyes. She had a slightly upturned nose and would have been no different from any other little girl her age except for the fact that she sat in a wheelchair. Laurie sat perfectly still looking out her bedroom window. It was the beginning of October and as always at this time of year, she had memories that should have been too painful for any small child to think upon. It had been on Christmas Eve three years ago when Laurie was five that her world turned upside down.
