....YET....
I don't even recall what year I wrote this but it has been a while cuz I actually posted it on my FB account when I had access to it so many years ago. I don't even recall my password to login..lol, but I used a pseudonym of Jessie Echevarria cuz I didn't want to be known on there..but time is passing and I can see it on my skin and face..but I still have one more poem. I just randomly chose a year but it has been a long time ago.

HAD I NOT SEEN THE SUN
HAD I NOT SEEN THE SUN 3-3-2026 I watch a lot of Asian shows with subtitles cuz they tell such good stories. There was a show called "HAD I NOT SEEN THE SUN" about a young man in prison for being a serial killer. When it is all said and done, the story was how he avenged a girl that befriended him even in his troubled home life. I do no justice to the raw emotions and the feel of the story. Please watch. But the title is what stuck with me most. I love the feel of it and all it implies. She was his sun.

DEMI
1/4/2026 When I wrote this I was searching for a title and I happened across this song by Demi Lovato and it spoke to how I feel when I write. It feels like I'm screaming into the void and none hear me. My words are taking forever to land but I am hoping light years from now, I will be famous (LOL). And people will look back and wonder what the author was thinking. Unintentionally, when I recite this verbally or in my head, if read as rap-it works best after the 7th line and after "persecutions" the last 8 lines read in contemplation-or read any way you like. I'm just the writer.

AUGUST 1976
I was listening to some reaction videos on the internet the other day when I "re-discovered" one of THE greatest and uniquely American songs I have ever had the pleasure of hearing. I forgot that Arlo Guthrie comes from a sturdy stock of great folklorists-namely his father Woody Guthrie. I associate Arlo with "Alice's Restaurant", so much so that I forgot he is an exceptional storyteller in his own right.

THE CUP:
Crazy how some writings you can recall clearly where and why you wrote it. I was working in car sales at the time and sometimes sitting and waiting is part of the job. The desk was one of those tan, faux woodgrain desks found in anytown USA. My coffee cup sat in front of me and caught my eye and I just felt a kinship in its patient waiting much as I was doing in the early morning. That building and dealership isn't even there anymore but I still remember it quite well.
