Following the fall of Rome, several Germanic tribes migrated to what is now modern-day France, assimilating into the Latinized population and becoming the foundation of the modern French people. Later, the emergence of Charlemagne led to the creation of France and Germany, establishing a buffer zone or "no man's land" due to feudalism. However, France eventually fragmented due to internal conflicts and found itself entangled in substantial disputes with the English.
