2024 Soundtrack
Party Train by The GAP JANUARY 1, 2023, we awoke early to finish preparations for guests and our good luck New Year's Day meal for friends and family. "Party Train" by The Gap was blasting throughout the house; we danced around the kitchen while my husband prepared the meat, and we set out snacks. Guests were arriving impatient to eat his exceptional food. We had collard greens symbolizing greenbacks (folding paper money), black-eyed peas to bring wealth in coins, and lima beans and rice, our standard comfort foods for gatherings. He always makes chicken and sometimes his famous baby back ribs.

My Musical Journey of 2024. Content Warning.
In January, I listened to a lot of sea shanty style music or Irish jig music. I needed the upbeat tunes to help me stay present for my children as I was fighting an upward battle with feeling like I could never make it out of my life's circumstances whole.

My Toxic Brain Dance
Have you ever had a moment in your life where you look around and wonder how the hell you ended up here, in the grand daddy of all slumps and going nowhere? You're standing on a path that seems go on and on and has no end. It’s been coming on for a while, but that is where I find myself. I am adrift in a sea of suckadoodle and mediocrity just treading water.

The Soundtrack of My Year
Every year tells a story, woven with unforgettable moments and underscored by a soundtrack that captures our deepest emotions. For me, 2024 was a year of transformation, learning, and discovery. The Soundtrack of My Year
Music has always been more than entertainment; it has been my companion, a mirror reflecting my emotions, and a guide through life’s twists and turns. This year, five songs became my personal soundtrack, encapsulating moments of reflection, growth, heartbreak, joy, and love. Each track marked a chapter of my journey, weaving together a narrative that I carry with me as I step into the next year.

2024: The Year My Life Found Its Rhythm
Introduction: The Opening Notes Every year tells a story, a collection of moments that ebb and flow like a symphony. Some are quiet and contemplative, like the gentle hum of strings, while others are loud and chaotic, crashing like cymbals. For me, 2024 was an album filled with a kaleidoscope of emotions, each chapter accompanied by a song that encapsulated its essence.

L(ov/if)e Story
[A combination of “Letters of Gratitude” and “The Sountrack of Your Year” challenges] . . My love, We are reaching the end of this first year, 2024, with no interruption of you in my mind and I want to thank you for your constant presence in my nomad life. I want to give you something that would remain in our minds no matter the passing-by of years to come. Since I know you love music as much as I do, this letter will be a humble musical depiction of what my world looked like/felt like throughout the year. I want you to see how, even when you were not physically there at times, you were always there with me.
