Beginning my Rock & Roll playlist, it starts with The King. Yes, Elvis has had many hit songs throughout his musical career. Perhaps you remember my story, ELVIS, BETTY AND ME, that is found here, Elvis Presley appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1956. At age eight, his music managed to make a huge impression on me with Hound Dog, Blue Suede Shoes, Jailhouse Rock, and other hit songs.

A song that came out as a novelty nonsensical doo-wop song in 1962 by The Rivingtons was "Papa-Oom-Mow-Mow." After a few oom and mows. you knew for sure that song was going to stay on your mind. It did make it on the Billboard Hot 100 and the Cashbox charts.

Here it is, the very first playlist of 2022! I don’t have much to say about the new year yet, other than, it’s incredibly freezing. January is always a weird transition month, does anybody else feel that way? I was so worried about starting my second semester in college, and making sure I read all the syllabi and knew where my classes were. As a consequence, this playlist was shorter than normal.
