How To: Go from Dark Brown to Blonde With Minimal Damage
Bored with your dark brown hair and fancy going platinum at home? It can be done! However, the first thing I want to make VERY CLEAR is this is a long, tiring and expensive process! Unfortunately there is no way to make your hair go from dark brown to blonde overnight. So if you think this isn't a colour you want to stick to or wouldn't mind staying your current colour, then I wouldn't recommend trying to go blonde. This is a commitment and no matter how you do it, you will walk away with more damage then you started with. The second thing I will tell you is that it takes a lot of upkeep and maintenance. For example: Bleaching your roots possibly more than once every few months, toning and conditioning your hair regularly. If you think this is too much to add to your routine, don't go blonde.

Hairbrushes. They just aren’t something I think about until I’m actually brushing my hair. Am I alone in this? I certainly do not rely on my brush to smooth all the frizz. That heavy duty lifting power belongs to the expensive creams, sprays, and the straightening iron. I don’t replace my hairbrush on a regular, or even yearly, basis (again, just me?). It’s a trusted beauty tool that should detangle my hair and pull it as taught as possible as I blow dry. Its durability is taken for granted until that inevitable day when it breaks! Or in my case, the brush flies off the literal handle and crashes into the bathroom mirror while I’m in the middle of blowdrying my super long, super thick, super curly hair. Suddenly, hairbrushes are all I can think about and an item I have to replace immediately. I cannot go without it. It’s like when your air conditioner goes out in the middle of summer and you live in Texas.

Let’s talk about dark lipstick. Over the past year, I’ve become more interested in actually partaking in the social norms of being a girl. By social norms, I’m referring to styling my hair, creating fashion combinations that aren’t just t shirts and jeans every single day, and wearing more noticeable make up. I’ve liked this one tube of lip gloss an awful lot since the summer. It was one my mom didn’t use anymore and had somehow ended up in my stage make up bag. After wearing it for Anything Goes, I found that I actually really liked the color. You will find these fashion colors are semi-permanent as you cannot find permanent hair color with these unnatural shade. You will also notice these brands can be left on the hair for extended periods of time, because they do not damage the hair. It does the opposite of being quite conditioning for the hair. Most people leave these colors in for at least an hour as the longer it is in the hair, the more vibrant and longer lasting the color results will be.
