To the Stars Beyond - Part 1
Authors note: I wrote this story for a challenge two years ago when I was new to Vocal. It never received many reads as I had very few subscribers at the time (and it was a pretty long read). In my unbiased opinion (haha), I think the story is fun and wanted to rebrand it a bit. I’ve tweaked some things and broken it up into parts (5 in total) to make it easier to read. If you enjoy the story, let me know and I’ll try to continue it! Thank you!

The Rings of Power Season 2
The Rings of Power Season 2 is an ambitious continuation of Amazon Prime Video's foray into J.R.R. Tolkien's legendary Middle-earth, bringing to life the fabled Second Age. This season builds on the foundations laid by the first, delving deeper into the lore, introducing new characters, and amplifying the stakes for all involved. With a narrative that spans continents and centuries, Season 2 attempts to balance epic battles, political intrigue, and the personal journeys of its ensemble cast.

August 1st Phaedra sat in her room, feeling beat down. New clothes had replaced the old ones, and she rolled her tight shoulders, trying to relax. Making sure she was alone, Phaedra reached under her shirt and pulled out the Godstone. Every one that existed looked different. Each one had its own story, too. Looking at the crystal that enclosed a leaf with what looked like a caterpillar, she wondered what this one was for. They were supposed to birth gods—or so the rumors went—and it was hard to say just by looking at it. Orso wouldn’t have gifted it if he didn’t think it was important. Especially not by risking Eldren’s life like that.

Frail, they deemed her frail as a child. The surgeons skilled hands pulled the last few stitches. Mulling the thought over in her mind. Curiously she looked at the multiple scars across experiment 377 chest. Heart surgeries, lung issues, multiple broken bones due to a brittle bone condition, and now she lay on the table, infused with extra terrestrial life form, and the physically perfect human. Even as the other members of the team removed the intubation tube, iv's, and other accompanying instruments the sutures were visibly growing new skin. She had never gotten this far. She looked over the brown hair, blue eyes, and pale skin.

July 4th Phaedra looked around the field. She knew he was here. She could sense his presence, a live spark in a world where everything was dead or dying. Phaedra drew her weapon against her will, her hand trembling. She didn’t want to fight Eldren, but if he pressed her, she might not have a choice.

June 27th Phaedra walked up to the gates. They were closed, which she didn’t find surprising. The bushes and vining plants were so overgrown on the wrought-iron fence she was a little worried she wouldn’t be able to open the gates. She looked to either side, but all she could see was the length of the fence. The bushes looked to be blackberries, and Phaedra stopped for a moment to have some. When she had last been at Temple, they were small and green, but these looked ripe enough to eat. She groaned as the berries burst with a tart sweetness. Being somewhat dead meant she could eat for pleasure but didn’t need the sustenance. It was frustrating. Aurelius supplied food and drink, but it was nothing like this.

May 17th “We have to get your Sight working better,” Torin said as Phaedra lounged on the bench under the upper deck of the ’ship. She had ducked underneath to get away, not sure what to think. So many thoughts whirled through her mind that she needed a moment to orient herself.
