Can You Tell the Difference Between an Organized or Disorganized Serial Killer?
Many think that there is only one type of serial killer out there, the murder-a-large-amount-of-people-in-a-specific-way kind, and that's true. There are those kinds of killers, but they are categorized into two types, organized and disorganized. Now some of you might be thinking What does organization have to do with murder? or How does knowing that help catch a murderer? though if you're really observant of the world around you than you will understand where I am coming from when I said organized and disorganized serial killers. Let me explain to those who are actually curious about something like this — especially the more cautious people of this world, killers like John Wayne Gacy, the Zodiac Killer, Jeffery Dahmer, or even Jack the Ripper are all the "famous" serial killers we've heard stories about, each having their own method to their murders, except they had one thing in common — they were all organized murderers.

My Little Runaway!
My father died when I was seven years old and my mother remarried when I was around ten. I didn't get along too well with my stepfather and when I entered my teen years, I began running away from home. I was not alone, I was always accompanied by a boyfriend. One time, a boy and I ran away to his relatives in the Carolina's but for some reason, the next three times I ran away was to New York City! The boy I was with was several years older, so I deferred to his opinion often. Ah, how I remember the excitement of all the activity in Times Square. We had some money initially, but that was soon depleted and we had to resort to stealing food in order to survive. This was back around 1968 and at that time, when you ordered food to go from a restaurant, they gave you the food first and you paid after. So, I would go inside the establishment and place our order while my boyfriend was outside waiting in case a distraction was called for. I would get the food, then run out the door without paying, after all, we had zero money. One time, a worker chased me out the door and my boyfriend intercepted long enough for me to get away. That was how we were able to eat. I swear it's because of people like me that restaurants began asking for the money first and then providing the food. The other scary part was in finding places to sleep. I remember sleeping during the day in Central Park. When the prospects soured, we would return home only to run away again shortly thereafter. The third time we went to New York City, we had a car. Unfortunately, it just so happened to be stolen. Since I didn't know how to drive, my boyfriend did the driving. We also stole some money, so we were good for awhile. The worst part was having to constantly move the car to a parking spot. When the money got low, we returned to our home state, but to one of his friend's apartments. We parked the car a few blocks away. One day, while I was going to obtain some of our belongings from the car, a man asked me my name and I gave a fake name. He saw right through me and I was arrested for a runaway, stubborn child, and stolen car. Thank goodness I was a juvenile so the stolen car didn't stick. However, I wound up being sent to a juvenile detention center for six months. Afterward, I was placed into an all girls boarding school run by nuns. All of the girls were assigned jobs to do and they would vary. Sometimes, you worked in the kitchen or for the priest, etc. We also had an infirmary at the school and I was working there for some time. I planned to finish my schooling and do my time, but, alas, the wanderlust struck and I was itching to run away, this time from the boarding school.

My Brother, The Psycho
Part One: The Cat When we were younger, my brother killed a cat. Well, he technically stoned it to death. When we look back on the memory, we laugh. But when I contemplate on the event alone, I don’t laugh because honestly, it’s pretty weird. We lived in a building complex where there were many stray cats. School was canceled that day due to a snow storm from the night before so that obliviously meant our entire day was going to be spent outside. My mother told me to watch my brother while we played outside which was stupid because I was only two years older than him and I clearly didn’t supervise him well enough. I asked her who would watch me while I played and she said, “You don’t need anyone to watch you,” and she shut the door. At first, nothing psychotic happened, just two siblings rolling in the snow, throwing snow balls and making snow angels. Typical childhood memories were being made and all seemed well. It was one of those moments where you wished it would last forever. As I laid on the ground, I dreamt about flying with the snowflakes. It was just a perfect day. Then I heard the first cry.

The Temple of Oculus Anubis is warranted another entry in its long, strange pantheon. We had resolved many of the more nefarious myths surrounding the Damascus, Oregon compound in our article, “The Temple of Oculus Anubis Solved," published back in October of 2016. Yes, we can safely say that such of the conjecture and lore – from cannibal cabals to Eyes Wide Shut fan-fiction – had been disproven, much to the chagrin of every laptop-theorist this side of the Mason Dixon. There is no Egyptian death cult – just a secretive family with a successful eye-care business and a knack for theatrical Egyptian decor, as we had surmised. However, as I look back at the aforementioned article's byline it's entirely possible that I may have written the cosmic check to come; one that's usually doled out to such a cocksure assessment that it had been "solved." I am humbled to admit that it wasn't: it seems there was something nefarious going on behind the ominous gates, something that was far too real.

Control
The only sound that could be heard was the never ending chirping of crickets, the rustling of the too tall grass as it moved with the wind, and the whisper of the running water. The air was heavy with humidity and the night sky seemed higher without the pollution of the neighborhood lights. If Bryce Massett held his breath and kept still, he could swear he didn’t exist; there was nothing but the wind, Willow Creek, and the wildlife that always seemed to find him no matter how invisible he was.
