On January 13th, 1999, Hae Min Lee’s body was found buried in a popular grave site; some might go as far as to call it a mass grave, Leakin Park. Not long after the discovery of Lee’s body, Syed was arrested and charged with her murder.

Nellie May Madison was the first woman sentenced to death in California. Her case was a stepping stone on the road to credibility for the abuse defence. At the time, the idea of a woman pointing to the spousal abuse she had suffered as the reason for her crime was unheard of. Nellie was born Nellie May Mooney, on the 5th April 1895 in Red Rock, Montana, to Edward Mooney and Catherine Doherty Mooney. Her parents had emigrated from Ireland to the USA a few years before she was born, and had their children - four including Nellie - in the US. They raised Nellie in Dillon, Montana; and she was trained to be a survivalist of the mountains.

Unsolved Murders That Will Make You Think
Background Info: The "Texarkana Murders" or the "Moonlight Murders," are a series of unsolved murders and other violent crimes that took place throughout 1946 in Texarkana, Texas. Early on the killer was given the nickname "Phantom Killer" as no one had seen or even heard while committing his crimes. The Phantom Killer, in total, killed five people and injured another three within a ten week time period. The killings were so brutal, that a curfew was enforced, police patrolled the streets, and the killer remained killing. The patrols stopped three months after the last murder.
