Al Goldstein was a cabdriver, an insurance salesman, an international photographer, and a reporter. He is best known, however, for his time as the executive editor and publisher of Screw, a position he held since he and Jim Buckley created the tabloid in 1968. A blend of explicit sexual material, political commentary, and social satire, Screw mirrored society and the personality of its outspoken publisher.

A psychologist with an international reputation, both as author and as a leader of the behaviorist school, Professor Hans Jurgen Eysenck was director of the Institute of Psychiatry at London's Maudsley hospital. A prolific popularizer, he wrote more than a dozen books expounding aspects of his absorbing subject (Uses and Abuses of Psychology, etc.) and he is particularly remembered for his paperbacks of intelligence tests. To professional colleagues, he is an eloquent repudiator of Freud and an indefatigable researcher into the mechanics of personality.

Too much money isn’t always a good thing. Back in the 1980s, Wall Street gave rise to a notorious New York City subculture whose principal goals were sex, drugs, and lots of money. That disconnect between material success and personal happiness was a byproduct of the opulent materialism of the decade. The 21st century ushered in an era of scrutiny and overt criticism of the decades of excess that led to a near collapse of the financial system starting in 2008. There is a feeling on modern Wall Street that you work harder for less money, and a lot less fun. When it comes to a cautionary tales of excess from the 1980s, most of us are inclined to refer to Martin Scorsese's Wolf of Wall Street starring Leonardo DiCaprio. The realities of Wall Street decadence are rarely aired in public. All too often, in a society of consumer pleasuring and narcissistic social media addicts, cautionary tales like that of Philip Hehmeyer, who was the subject of Peter McCabe’s article on sex, drugs, and money in the world of finance originally published in the February 1985 issue of Penthouse magazine, get a revisionist makeover by a society that admires Gordon Gekko and aspires to party like Jordan Belfort.

Brothels in Art
Prostitution and art got a similar start. They both went hand in hand with religion. While painters and sculptors were portraying the gods, prostitutes were serving the gods in religious sanctuaries. The oldest recorded brothel was attached to the temple of the Sumerian deity Anu. The inmates, watched over by a Sumerian madame, were dedicated to the cult of Anu's lustful daughter, Ishtar, and the proceeds from their “holy” activities went to the priests of the temple. This would seem like the perfect setup for artists, merging two of their most popular themes: sex and religion. But the Sumerians stuck chiefly to religion and left sex and the servants of Ishtar out of their art.

Together, Bert Stern and Marilyn Monroe's collaboration resulted in the now-classic The Last Sitting, a series of photography sessions that produced over 2,500 images that are both haunting and poignant. Best Fruit and Veggie Pick Up Lines
One liners are the bread and butter of those who have very little game or a whole lot of confidence. Despite their natural cheesiness they can often be quite hilarious (and therefore effective). Most of us have heard a few pick up line favorites from “hey girl, do you have a quarter I can borrow, because I promised I’d call my mama when I fell in love” to “did you fall from the sky, because you are an angel” to more inappropriate versions like, “did you spray your pants with Windex, because I can see myself in them.” I know, total barf. However, there are people out there who are convinced they will hook the love of their life with one creative line.
