“Hello Tom.” She had a firm, elegant voice. There was nothing synthetic or robotic about her. She had a strong, athletic build, deep green eyes and bright pink hair pulled back into a messy knot. Dressed in tight black shorts, a black t-shirt with the word Roland across the front and knee-high boots, she had a futuristic gothic look. Her pale skin was smooth but not too perfect. Tiny moles graced her face and neck and delicate lines clung to the corners of her mouth and eyes. Her slash of blue lipstick clashed with her fluro hair. Tom had never seen anyone like her.

Top Sci-Fi Westerns
Westworld is not only one of the most popular programs on television since Game of Thrones, drawing in audiences all over the globe, but it has also given the sci-fi western a much needed kick in the butt. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, this forgotten genre might just be in time for a resurgence. Science fiction and westerns share the same narrative roots, initially audiences couldn't get enough of cowboys and their boot-strapping ways, then as technology grew, westerns' popularity waned and science fiction was on the rise. Universe Hunting
A big part of collecting science fiction novels is the thrill of the hunt. The fact that the books aren't always easy to find adds a game element to discovering and buying them. It can be quite satisfying, randomly stumbling upon a longed for publication, on sale for next to nothing. I still can't get over how books are practically given away these days. When I look at my bookshelves, sometimes I have to do a double take, because it's not just pages on those shelves, but authors' blood.
