The incident in the tunnel, after which I immediately quit
As a student, I worked part-time as a night traveler on the subway, but I didn’t stay there for long. Strange stories have happened to me this year (or a little less, I don’t remember exactly how much I hung out there), but now I’ll tell you the one after which I immediately quit.

Abandoned village
I love this village. I've been coming here every summer for almost twenty years. Everything is nearby here: forest, field, and river. The village is relatively large, three kilometers to the nearest village through forests and fields, and about fifteen kilometers to the highway. About three years ago, they began actively buying houses (what to do, people are getting old and dying) for suburban plots.

Hand of the Devil
Cold. The only thing she felt was the cold. Nothing else. The wind blew her hair around her. The snow seeped its way into her shoes. She wasn't expecting the need to wear anything other than her basic canvas shoes today. It was supposed to just be a normal Thursday. Classes at 9AM. Lunch with friends at 1PM. Dinner with her sister at 7PM at her sisters favorite restaurant. It was an easy day, a simple one. Yet here she was, stuck out in the cold, hiding behind a tree, listening for the soft crunch of snow under his footsteps.

Vampire; a Reflection of Time
Vampires have been around for centuries, and their allure is as strong as ever. They represent the dark side of humanity, and their seductive nature speaks to our hidden desires and fears. Why are vampires so popular? Some might say it's because they reflect our current anxieties and uncertainties. In a time of economic recession and political turmoil, people may be drawn to the dark, dangerous world of vampires.

Angel
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. Lex scrunched her eyes to try and make out the full shape of the cabin through the small specks of snow falling in front of her. She knew this spot on the trail used to belong to a trail angel- a safe rest spot created for weary backpackers, but she was almost certain that this one had been cleared out for years. At least, that’s what she recalled from her reading in preparation for this leg of the trip.
