dating
All about dating. First dates, three years into a relationship, Tinder, and more.
Boiling the Frog
It’s the summer holidays and as my day job is related to education, that is when I take a lot of my time off. My partner and I have just come back from a week and a half in Spain and then we just spent the long weekend in Amsterdam. It was really great for Jose and me to spend that time with each other and really calibrate ourselves, and by that I mean each self and then the third "self" that is us. I mean, we didn’t sit around contemplating our navels and trying to communicate telepathically or anything quite like that (although we got pretty close in Amsterdam when we tried mushrooms, that was until Jose came out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his head with our toothbrushes as horns). We were our natural, unfiltered, and unaffected selves and it was nice to go back to point zero.

Signs You Feel Insecure Around Your Partner
If you just started a relationship with someone or have been dating them for a while, there are times when you might feel insecure. It's okay to have occasional insecurities. But it can be worrisome if you are consistently questioning your partner and not feeling loved and protected by them.

The Mask
What if it were true? I wish people would just give that a thought: What if what I am saying is actually true? What if there really is another person behind that nice mask of smiles, friendly talks, and prayers… the pastor mask? I wouldn’t be able to believe it either had I not lived it.

Finding L.O.L. (Love On-Line)
Internet, as we know it, has become a necessity and no longer a luxury. Hence, the undeniable power of technology. Because of the internet, everyone has emphasized the need to be always connected to the latest trends. Entrepreneurs see this as an opportunity to make online dating sites. Online dating sites are a new (and now, common) way to connect with someone through the internet and arrange a date with the objective to form personal, romantic, or sexual relationship. Thus, relinquishing the traditional way of dating.

Who's Not Your Baby?
Who's your daddy? Straight guys have been using this line to pick up females for quite some time, to varying degrees of success. It always struck me as incestuous and gross. Like why would anyone want to think about their father's during sexy times? Of course, I'm also the one who has a strict schedule for how often a new bf can see me, but that's for a different article or column if I can ever land one. Columns are as elusive for me as boyfriends are. Getting off track here. Who's your daddy? It boggles my mind that people think that this line is sexy. I don't get it. Am I alone in thinking that this is a pickup line that needs to go the way of "Hey baby, did it hurt when you fell from heaven?" Seriously, who thought necrophilia was sexy? Maybe there are some things that I am just not supposed to understand. By now, you must be trying to figure out why I am writing about this topic today. As always, a personal experience made me think about it.

Retribution: Chapter 32
A summer-like heat wave hit Paris at the beginning of May: a week of dry, heavy, and sultry days. At the height of this hot spell, Charles and Adèle opened up their swimming pool. With a pitcher of bee’s knees, the afternoon passed pleasantly. Charles was bringing Adèle, who was sitting on the diving board, another cocktail when Benoît came outside and announced that Madame Brady was there to see them.

9 and 1 Ways to Make the Best Impression on His Parents
As a rule of thumb, it’s important that you’ve been together at least six months and that you’re both comfortable talking about each other’s parents. If he seems hesitant about the idea, or you’re unnerved by the thought, then wait longer until you’re both at ease.

One Love.
I have been known in my day to make some humorous, yet insensitive, remarks via social media. Especially those pertaining to women of low moral character and/or those who ease through life without being held accountable etc., grasp my attention today. Though the subject requires attention, I could’ve been more tact in my delivery.

My Red Thread
There’s been a common story about the red thread of fate that binds people together. An ancient Chinese belief is that an invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet or be together regardless of time, place, or circumstance. The thread may stretch and tangle but it will never break. It is a similar concept of soul mates or that there is only one person out there specifically designed for us.
