The Sex and Colour of Justice
Quietly ensconced in a bottom rung, no star hotel, I had time to reflect a little about what had brought me to this. Out on my ear, but not out for the count, not by a long chalk. Looking back I wondered why I had ever put up with half of what I did. My life felt like a slow motion plane crash with everything in ruins. Late afternoon light played delicately across the greystone walls of the historic building. A woman stood opposite, a small street separating her from the path that would lead to ornate, wooden double doors. She inhaled deeply, standing squarely facing it.

The Bigger Picture
I ran away. Don’t you ever want to run away? You see, I’m an artist. My feelings have to surface through some form of expression, like a breaching whale of emotions. My professional medium is abstract painting. The creative process is defined by wild freedom and carefree recklessness, just like falling in love. I'll paint happy, but I won't paint heartbreak. The emotion is too vast for the limited framework of a canvas, or my life, for that matter. When he broke up with me, I knew I needed to expand or risk spilling off the edge. So, instead of painting, I ran away.

MOONogamy
When someone says they want to kill you, it’s not always a statement taken literally. It’s more like a playful phrase couples use when they tease each other, a rather puckish way of saying: I’m going to get you back for whatever silly thing you’ve done.
