friendship
C.S Lewis got it right: friendship is born when one person says to another: "What! You too? I thought I was the only one!"
Time To Say Goodbye
I met my best friend my freshman year of college. We were part of a larger group of friends who were so close we were practically inseparable. During second semester of that year, two of our friends studied abroad, so the rest of us bonded even further to cement the foundation of our group. This was the semester my best friend truly became my best friend.

I Was Eleven
I was eleven with the body of a sixteen-year-old. The hormones raging through my system mimicked what I looked like on the outside. I was the perfect storm. I was the perfect target. I was coming into womanhood and trying to find myself. There were plenty of guys willing to show me the way. One in particular just decided to be all too aggressive about it. He was the step-brother of my best friend at the time, Harry. I hardly knew anything about him except that he seemed a like a goofy teenager. I just wish it could have all remained fun and games.

Rainbow Girl
I didn’t see the rainbow girl for quite sometime after that. Christmas came and went, as well as New Year. My grandparents Olga and Delio came to visit, and so did my brother Marco and his boyfriend Neri, so I didn’t go back to Portugal for the holidays.

I Will Not Feel Obligated to Quit Living My Life
I understand your life changed, for the better of course. You and your now husband made a beautiful, early-on, mistake, as we have called it, and you created this amazing little life that I call my niece. I admire her. I think you have done a spectacular job with her and also her brother, that soon followed after. You gave up goals, dreams, and made sacrifices to be able to raise these two children and provide the amazing life you are giving them. I am proud of you for that. Unfortunately, although I see all these amazing things, I can't help but tell you I do not feel that I should be obligated to comply with the new set of life changes.

Closure Happens in Funny Ways
He waltzed right past me. I felt my heart sink to the bottom of my chest. Of course he didn't see me. He probably wouldn't have recognized me if he had. My hair was completely different and I actually had makeup on for a change. Still, he may not have seen me, but I saw him, the man who destroyed my life, move to the center of the bar as if he had done nothing wrong.

Maybe Sometime
"Cath, I'm not that kind of guy." I said, eyeing the woman. "Especially because Aeron is my best friend." Cath was also my best friend, but she was like one of the guys. Her girlfriend, Sabriel or Bri for short, is this over-the-top ginger with a big nose and high cheek bones, but she makes Cath happy. So, I have no real opinion. But Cath, being the shit-pot stirrer she is, knows that I have deep feelings for our other friend, Aeron.
