Around the time I was about eight or nine years old, we moved back to Mississippi and were living at my Grandmother's house. Mom and Dad has split and now it's my grandma, my mother, and my baby brother living at our family house in small town USA. My brother and I had shared a room since the time we were born, and I was at the age where I wanted my own room. I was beginning to feel myself and actually thought I was the man of the house.

Grace
“We should’ve named you Grace.” My father coined this one-liner early in my childhood. I was gangly youngster, perpetually covered in paper cuts, mystery bruises, and mosquito bites. When I first met my grandmother—at two years of age—I greeted her with a face scabbed over from a fall. As soon as I could walk, I was clumsy. And man, did my dad love the subtle hilarity of sarcasm.

Now, I have never been in the habit of going up to other people and sticking my tongue out at them. Do you do it, would you do it? Well, the answer to this question would probably (and most likely) be a resounding NO! I mean, it is not the most appropriate or acceptable activity to show off - certainly not a 'skill' to show all your friends!

Tale of Two Highlander Hybrids
You might think this story begins in Scotland where the term highlander is synonymous with an inhabitant of the Highlands of Scotland but no it began in Fukuoka, Japan. It is about a mid sized SUV that arrived in my life one day in early August 2008. Little did I know the tag line of Toyota makes things better was going to be the motto of my life! I have had this car for 12 years and well over 250,000 miles so we have some stories to tell... buckle up!

How to ADULT
Buy slippers. Just do it. Not just one pair. Buy multiples. You need to be comfortable inside where you will be a lot of the time when you are not physically ‘adulting’. Use phrases like ‘but they are so comfy’ and even consider buying a spare set just in case you can’t reach the original. Dressing gowns are optional also. Do not, and I repeat, do not buy or consider purchasing crocs. You haven’t given up that much yet.

How Mer-low Can You Go?
I’ve been seeing the same hairdresser for three years now. Three years. That’s a big commitment for me. My longest relationships weren’t that long! From the moment I found Rafi, I loved him! Photos of his wife and daughters adorned his station. His face lit up when he talked about them. Great with hair, sweet, caring, tall, dark, and handsome! I think I just felt myself swoon!
