I have nothing but love and respect for my critical brethren. It takes a great deal of fortitude to endure the slings and arrows of being a professional film critic. Filmmakers often don’t care for our profession and consider us outsiders, ignorant of their effort and art form. Many movie fans hate us and openly tell us that they seek out movies we don’t like on the assumption that they will like it because we don’t.

"An Imperfect Murder"
Sometimes you watch a performance and wonder what you are watching, or why the movie was even made. It so happens that "An Imperfect Murder", originally named "The Private Life of a Modern Woman" is one of those movies. In the short time frame of its duration... only and hour and fifteen minutes long, we see a famous actress who is haunted by a nightmare involving her ex-boyfriend, she begins to question her reality and whether the incident took place.

Happiest Season (2020) Review
As the 12 days of Christmas draw to a close, I thought I'd review a Christmas film while there's still time. As a lesbian who loves terrible cheesy Christmas films I feel like I was the exact target audience for Happiest Season so I had high hopes. See those smiling faces above? My Review of "Happiest Season"
Happiest Season is a surprise romantic comedy that came out late in 2020. I didn't expect to like this movie as much as I did. For many it would look like a movie about a lesbian couple trying to find the right time to come out of the closet to the family. Instead I think it's a more than that and I believe a lot of us can actually relate to this movie.

Sixteen Candles? More like Sexist Candles: A Modern Review of the Cult Classic
Sixteen Candles is one of the quintessential rom-com movies that checks all of the 80s movie boxes. It stars Molly Ringwald, has a sex-obsessed teen population, the most horrendous second-hand embarrassment ever, and the cliché love story of the popular jock falling for the “unremarkable” yet beautiful girl. Not to mention, the movie has infiltrated pop culture as one of THE most romantic movies made. Despite its popularity and a plot line that makes women swoon for their own Jake Ryan, it’s littered with problematic themes that sound alarm bells louder than the gong throughout the movie, another problematic premise for another day.

10 Romantic Comedies That Don't Suck
So, I hate rom-coms. They are predictable, bland, and almost never funny. I generally only watch them when I’m sick (or when I came home with my newborn and lived on my couch in a sleep-deprived haze.) That’s because you can nod in and out and still know exactly what’s happening. But, some will surprise you by actually being, well, dare I say… kind of good.

My Review of "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past"
Ghosts of Girlfriends Past is a romantic comedy that came out back in 2009. Seeing as it's not that long ago, watching this movie will make you realize how fast societal norms have changed in such a short time. There are a ton of antics and phrases that people use in this movie that would not be acceptable today but like many movies of this era you watch them for face value.
