Lots Of Part-Time PSW Jobs In Ontario
Across Ontario, one of the main challenges faced by personal support workers is the fact that, even though there are numerous part-time PSW jobs available, full-time work is not as common in this field. In fact, according to the most recent long-term care staffing study done by the Ministry of Long-Term Care (July 2020), only 41% of the overall PSW population in the province works full-time, while 48% have part-time PSW jobs and the remaining 10.7% are considered casual workers.

How Healthcare Organizations Can Improve Their Remote Hiring Process
The healthcare sector has been hit by the pandemic more than any other, and as a result of the massive increase in their operations and overworking of their human resources, healthcare facilities have found themselves understaffed in the worst possible time. This poses a big challenge for hiring managers and recruiters who are used to a traditional hiring process and may feel somewhat intimidated about switching to a remote format.

Honing My Craft
It has been six months since I joined an online platform for creatives and my writing life has changed so much for the better. Now I wake up ready to face the screen and begin to write. Some days I am challenged however never frightened and I always manage to put something on the page. This is my new and I pray daily high for the rest of my life. Since I started with the online platform, I have had two stories rejected. I must admit after I read them after the rejection, I saw all the flaws and I was just horrified that I submitted them. How could I think that mess would pass a review? Well, instead of quitting and sulking I started the rewrite of the stories and polished them up. It took two of my writing sessions (about two hours each in length) for me to see where I had gone off course with one of my stories and one writing session (again about two hours in length) for the other. After I course corrected, I resubmitted them and they both were accepted. I learned you cannot rush or lose your focus when you write a short story.

All Work and No Play Makes Jack a Dull Boy
Probably the most famous iteration of the saying “all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” is that in Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining. The film features a writer with writer’s block who takes his family with him to an isolated hotel where he has taken a position as the off-season caretaker. He is working on a play but when we finally see the words he has typed, it is that phrase repeated over and over and over again. Jack descends into full madness as he attempts to murder his family.

50,000+ Reads on Vocal
I always wondered when it would happen. Then casually going over my stats, I felt my wrists shake in excitement. It finally happened! It's a milestone that I have always wanted to reach because it's hard for many content creators to get views. 50,000 is a significant number for me. It's the word count goal for most Nanowrimo projects and since then, it's become my target word count for most of my novels. I don't always reach this word count with the final product. In fact, I've published more short stories than novellas than longer works but I don't think readers care much about word count. They care more about what words we use and how we use them to express our ideas.
